Brecon
House Bed and Breakfast is located mid-way between Nagambie and Shepparton,
in the town of Murchison, the oldest town in the Goulburn Valley region
of the State of Victoria, Australia. Murchison is also known as the
'River Bank Garden Town', a title which reflects the town's location
on the banks of the Goulburn River, in the heart of the Goulburn River
Valley and Nagambie Lakes wine region.
The
House
Built in the early Colonial era and now 160 years old, the house is
one of the first buildings in the area.
It is a two storey house, of solid, locally hand-made brick construction,
renovated and modernised in keeping with its original style.
Crystal chandeliers and many paintings make it a delightful space.
We serve you with a full country breakfast in our Breakfast Room.
There are also tea and coffee making facilities.
Reverse-cycle
air-conditioning for your comfort winter and summer.
Guest sitting room with comfortable armchairs and sofa, television
and radio, a cosy wood stove for the winter and access to the front
porch and garden.
Smoke
Alarms are fitted, for your safety, at various points around the house.
For
many years, Brecon House has been rated by the RACV/AAAT as a 4 Star
premises. But, because they
only assess a room and its fittings, they always want us to fit into
the same guidelines as an average motel.
In
doing this they
never assess the true value of a hosted B+B, nor the QUALITY of your
EXPERIENCE,
so we made the decision to end our membership of the rating organisation
and, therefore, we are no longer allowed to use their official 'Star'
rating logo.
But
Brecon House IS NOT A MOTEL. Rest assured that our quality has not
diminished and that your EXPERIENCE
will probably be FIVE STAR!
